What's cookin' at Livvy's Treats??

I'M BAAACK!! This is my second year doing the Young Entrepreneur project at school, and Livvy's Treats is in full effect!

I'm developing tons of new doll confections that are even better than last year's! Instead of selling everything individually, we are prepackaging everything in themed sets. Based on my market research, this is what everybody wanted, and it offers better value to my customers.

I am especially proud that this year, my use of recycled/repurposed materials has gone up from 40% (last year) to 75%!! WOO HOO for the environment!

After school today, I stood outside the school to promote my new product line. The buzz is building, and I'm busy as a bee "baking" ;) my products.

Great Success!

The BIG SALE was Friday. It was FUN! We arrived at school at 8:10 and set up until 9:15 when the first class came in.  My booth was constantly busy until we took our first break at recess. Classes continued to file through until noon when we closed for a 30 minute lunch break outside. By then I was so tired I felt like I was going to fall on my face. Mom brought me lunch and lemonade and I felt ready to keep on selling.

In the next half hour I sold out of sponge cakes, gummy bears and macaroons. Mini cakes were a huge hit too and also sold out in the afternoon. I didn't have to do anything to attract customers, they just kept coming to me. My booth was pretty elaborate, so even though I was in the back corner of the room, people were attracted to my booth. One of my favourite parts of the day was seeing the expression on the faces of the little kids when they saw my products for the first time. I also loved making change and holding my first $50 bill!

I didn't sell out of all my products, but I didn't have too many to bring home. The MOST exciting news is that my mom and I were approached after school by a local business owner about carrying Livvy's Treats in her store! I can't wait to see what happens!!  :)

Thank you again to all the people who supported me and helped make Livvy's Treats a success!

Thanks,Mom, Dad, Bella, Uncle Jakub, Lillian Lam, Auntie Rebecca, Auntie Kat. Also Kiera, Maya, and Renna for helping me at my booth when you sold out of your products!

The Biggest thank you is to the Awesomest Teacher Ever Ms. McCleary who did this project with us! It was a huge undertaking and I really appreciate you taking the time to make it happen. You've made school FUN for me! THANK YOU!

Livvy's Treats Gives Back

The reason I haven’t posted a blog in 6 days is that we have been working our fingers off here at Livvy’s Treats production headquarters. We’ve made 60 cakes, over a hundred drinks and are finishing up the last of the cotton candy today.

I have presented to the kindergarten class at my school. And this morning my sister and I were raising awareness of our product outside the school as children and parents were filing in. I wore the costume I made and felt a bit silly, but it went great! We had a huge pile of flyers and 15 min before the bell we were completely empty handed.

The sale is tomorrow and we are going to have to work, work work and work some more to be ready. It is amazing how many small details there are to be done before presenting your business to the world!

I’m really happy to be giving 10 percent of my profits tomorrow to a charity founded by my hero. Bethany Hamilton is a professional surfer who had her arm chomped off by a shark when she was only 13. Her  courage and perseverance inspired me to surf, discovering my passion! Her story has inspired me to dream big and never give up even when things are hard. Friends of Bethany is a non-profit organization that supports young women and those that have suffered limb loss.

Making Smoothies and Sundaes

Oh my goodness! The sale is in 7 days! We are going to have to work double time this weekend.

Today we took a break from cakes and started to work on smoothies and sundaes. We have 46 in process and 14 completed. We are having lots of fun painting cups and making whipped cream.

I've added a few pictures to my Facebook page to answer your questions about scale and size. Thank you everyone who has liked my Facebook page!  I really appreciate your support! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and there is a 75% chance they will get answered ;)

Keep checking back this weekend for more info about what we are making how things are going.

Up and Running!

Today we took a bunch of pictures for this website. I took pictures of my dolls and toys having tea parties with my treats. I'm really excited to show you all the really cool doll confections I made. I hope you will be as excited as I am.

We are just getting started with our mass production schedule - cakes are first on the list! My mom and I will be hard at work making at least 30 units of one-of-a-kind cakes.

Check back regularly to see how we are doing... I can't believe I HAVE A WEBSITE!!!!!! ;)
